About the Staff

A little bit about Anita:

Mom. Grandmother. Entrepreneur.  My love for food and cooking, dates back decades ago. I am the 12th child of 13 from my parents, the late Mose Adams, Sr. and the late Flora Bell Adams.

I have always been fascinated with the craft of cooking. I watched my mother cook countless meals, effortlessly. I witnessed my parents feeding people who would come by our home if they needed a meal to eat. Although we had a large family, we always had enough food to share for anyone who needed it. The love that my parents had for GOD, our family, people, and food, was ingrained in me.

Cooking has never been just a hobby for me to do, it has always been a part of who I am. Just as I take pride in my self-worth and self-image, I am just as particular in cooking. Every dish that I create, I give it my undivided attention. I feel that it is my duty to make meals that exceed a person’s expectations, because he or she trusted me enough to eat it!

My late husband, Edward Sr., would always compliment my cooking. He would sit and talk to me at the dinner table, waiting anxiously for me to finish preparing meals. I have always loved cooking for my family and others, because I felt that it was a way to express my love and adoration for them. Not only do I continue to show love to my family, I also display this affection to others. I take my time and I use the best ingredients. When people taste our food, we want them to know that the food in which they consume from us, was prepped, cooked, and executed by people who truly care about their food experience.

I believe that making Our Heavenly Father the head of my life, has definitely been one of my greatest attributes in knowing how to make food come to life. It is 100%, a GOD given gift.

I am extremely blessed and grateful to have the opportunity to demonstrate this gift to the world! And the teachings that my parents imprinted within me of loving GOD, family, people, and food, continue to live in me.

A little bit about Sabrina:

Food has always been a significant component in my family’s dynamic. Since I was a child, I watched my mom create some of the most amazing and delicious meals.

The gift that she possesses for cooking was also a gift her mother, my grandmother, Flora Adams had. My grandmother would make biscuits, desserts, and countless foods from scratch and would utilize the ingredients that she had to create the most appeasing meals.

I always tell people that my mom comes from a family of cooks. Not only could my mom cook, but so could most of her siblings. Family dinners were always amazing. I have always loved to watch people come together on the common ground of eating. There is something intriguing and special about great food. It has a tendency of bringing people together for the sake of food, fun, family, friends, and fellowship.

As a wife and mom, I continue to cultivate my gift of cooking and love of food daily. One of my businesses consists of interacting and nurturing children; in addition, children are generally “brutally honest” about their opinions on tasting and trying different foods. I have experienced parents asking how do we cook certain foods, because his or her child, won’t eat that food item when he or she is home. As one of my college professors once told me, “Whatever you put your name on, always make sure, it’s your best.”

Clean Plates Eatery & Catering, Inc. is definitely a catering company that will give every consumer, our absolute best in taste, quality, and service. And as my late father, Edward, Sr. would often say, “Any gathering can be great, as long as the food is good!” We at Clean Plates Eatery & Catering, Inc., firmly believe that awesome food equates to an awesome time!

A little bit about Briddie:

There is a famous quote stated by Malcolm Forbes that says, “Food may be essential for the fuel of the body, but good food is fuel for the soul.”

As a child, I watched and assisted my mother with cooking foods that many would categorize as soul food; however, we viewed all food that was created within our home or by our family as soul food, because we knew and understood that whatever meal that was being prepared, was cooked from the heart and soul. Coming from an environment where cooking food  was a vital part of my daily life, it allowed me to gain and appreciate the essence of quality food.

I have always enjoyed developing tasteful meals for my family and others. To see the reaction of people as they taste the foods we create makes me even more humble and honored; in addition, to hear their reception of the settings that we design, really helps us realize that culinary skills are by far, a natural gift.

Cooking is an art that is naturally given. Some people are fortunate to go to classes to obtain certain knowledge and exposure to spices and flavors; however, some people know by instinct what tastes good and what doesn’t. Some people can create food pieces that are absolutely stunning; nevertheless, they lack seasoning and taste.

Clean Plates Eatery & Catering, Inc. specializes in creating flavorful  foods that are delicious to taste and mouthwatering to see!

We put our heart and soul in every dish, because we understand that as in the words of Hippocrates, “Let  food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food,” that food is fundamental; yet, good tasting food is a blessing!

A little bit about Markayla:

I have always loved to taste and try different foods. I am part of a third generation family, that has a passion for cooking and creating delicious meals. Considering that I am the youngest in our catering business, I have the tendency to sometimes “step outside of the box,” per se, as it pertains to food.

My family is extremely supportive, so with their seasoned wisdom and knowledge of flavors and experience, we are able to come together and produce even more tasty meals. As long as I can remember, my grandmother, Anita, my mom, Sabrina, and my aunt, Briddie, have always loved cooking and preparing meals for others to enjoy.

We would have luncheons and banquets for communities, free of charge, just trying to give back. And although the food was free, we made sure that the food was delicious and that there was an adequate amount, to ensure that every person would be served.  Regardless of the fact that I was younger, my family had me right there, serving, cooking, and interacting with people; nevertheless, this helped to instill in me the moral and ethical principle of treating people the way you want to be treated and cultivating the gift of cooking in me, all at the same time.

We believe that there is a blessing in serving and looking after the needs of others. Clean Plates Eatery and Catering, Inc. is the absolute best solution for any person’s catering needs. We love preparing and cooking succulent foods, passionately.  We love superb quality, undeniably.

We love serving, graciously. And we love people, genuinely!
